Cole Palmer met new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca as he returned to training several weeks on from his Euro 2024 heartbreak.

After starring for Chelsea and helping England reach the final of the Euros, which ultimately ended in defeat at the hands of Spain, Palmer was given several weeks off to recover. Now, however, he is back in Cobham ahead of the new Premier League season.

The footage shows the 22-year-old returning to the club's training ground, before being put through his paces with some individual drills. Then he met Maresca, who swapped Leicester City for the Blues earlier this summer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Palmer was a revelation for Chelsea last season, scoring 25 goals and bagging 15 assists in all competitions. He helped the Blues finish sixth last term and the west London outfit will hope the England international can fire them up the table and to more success in 2024-25.

Palmer could return to first-team action on Sunday when they take on Inter in their last pre-season friendly. A week later, they host defending Premier League champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge for the start of the new season.
