The Deadpool actor, along with fellow co-chairman Rob McElhenney, was unaware of quite what he was letting himself in for when completing a stunning takeover of the Red Dragons in 2021. His nerves have been shredded since then, with Reynolds buying emotionally and financially into the Welsh outfit.

There has been plenty to keep him entertained – including a trip to Wembley and back-to-back promotions – but Wrexham have a habit of doing things the hard way and that does little for the stress levels of those in the crowd and boardroom.
WHAT REYNOLDS SAID
Reynolds, who is promoting his new Deadpool & Wolverine film alongside Hugh Jackman, has told of how nervous he gets when Wrexham are playing: “My coping mechanisms as I’ve gotten older are not great. One time I checked how many steps I got through during a match and it was like nine-and-a-half thousand. I’m like a caged tiger, I live, breathe, eat and sleep Wrexham and the only thing that can derail from that is Deadpool because Deadpool swallows your whole life and that’s the only way to do it, to let it consume you, so I’m so happy to be back now.”

A fourth series of Welcome to Wrexham has been confirmed, with the club’s first season back in League One set to be covered by their award-winning documentary. That campaign will get underway against Wycombe on August 10, with there every chance that Reynolds and McElhenney will be at SToK Racecourse for that fixture.
