Did you know that Robert Lewandowski was very close to plying his trade in the Premier League back in 2010 when Blackburn Rovers wanted to sign him?

The then-Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce was impressed with his performances at Lech Poznan and the English were very close to sign the player.

In fact, the Poland forward was due to take a flight to complete his move but the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull erupted in April 2010 causing disruptions to air travel for six days.
