According to Delap is expected to decide on his next club before linking up with England’s Under-21 squad for the European Championships in Slovenia. The tournament kicks off on June 11, giving United and others a narrow window to seal a deal.

As a result of a relegation clause in his Ipswich contract, Delap is now available for a fee of £30m, a figure that has triggered serious interest from multiple top-flight sides. United and Chelsea are believed to be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old, while Newcastle United and Everton have also made their interest known to the player’s representatives. All four clubs are eagerly waiting for Delap’s final call as his stock continues to rise.
