Glamorgan beat Northamptonshire by 144 runs in their championship at WantageRoad with a full day to spare. Such an outcome would have appeared to beunlikely – not to say impossible – when the visitors stood at 77-6 on thefirst morning.Yet such was their recovery that Northamptonshire needed to score 323 runs to win and were bowled out for 178 by Steve Watkin (3-31) and Darren Thomas (3-48). David Sales (61) and Matthew Hayden (41) were the only batsmen to face the Glamrgan bowlers with any success.
